01 / THE BIG PICTURETHE YEAR, NOT JUST THE DAY
LET’S ZOOM OUT
More than a score.
In 2025, Jason worked overnight at a hospital while holding a remote day job. The ring saw the signals. The schedule adds the context.
Hospital hours were approximately 11 p.m.–7 a.m., beginning around June and ending around September or October; remote work was 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Exact workdays and the end date are unknown. Calendar comparisons do not prove what caused a change.
FOUR WINDOWS INTO 2025
The plot thickens.
Average readiness, by calendar period. Read these as chapters, not shift labels.
Readiness is Oura’s estimate, shown on a 0–100 scale. Each average uses only recorded values; counts are shown. October cannot be assumed to be after the schedule ended.
02 / THE SHIFT LENSTHE PART THE SCORE MISSES
LIFE HAPPENED HERE
When the clock flipped.
The schedule didn’t just make the days longer. It changed where sleep could fit. Here’s what the export actually shows—and what it doesn’t.
Important distinctionMultiple sessions are grouped by Oura’s exported day, not necessarily a complete 24-hour period. Timing is local as recorded. The data cannot identify work nights or directly measure circadian phase.
03 / THE LONG VIEWMONTH BY MONTH
A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
The year has a shape.
The drop was clear. The rebound wasn’t a straight line.
2025 monthly scores are means of recorded values. November and December have only 11 and 6 readiness days; missing data isn’t a zero.
The two Oura scores can share inputs, so they are not independent tests. The chart needs an internet connection to load its chart library; the data table below works without it.

THE PATTERN YOU CAN TOUCH
Every little square counts.
A calendar of the days in the export. Switch the signal, zoom into any month, and select a day to see its complete dashboard record. A small ✳ marks a day with a recorded workout.
Colour bins are visual groupings, not health grades. — means the selected measurement is missing. A workout marker means the export includes a workout on that day; its absence does not establish that no exercise happened. Dates with no recorded signal are not scored.

06 / THE SCIENCEWHAT WE KNOW. WHAT WE DON’T.
CURIOSITY, MEET RIGOR
The fine print is the point.
Interesting is good. Defensible is better. Here’s the difference between a finding in this record and research about people more broadly.
01
Sleep timing isn’t circadian phase.
Jason’s recorded sleep start times shifted. That is not a measurement of the body’s internal clock. A study of 45 night-shift workers evaluated a model against laboratory melatonin timing; this dashboard applies no such model.
In one laboratory study of 53 healthy adults, Oura Gen 2 had stronger agreement for sleep versus wake than for specific sleep stages. That does not validate every individual reading or daytime shift-work sleep.
Same-day steps and readiness are linked differently across periods in this record. Work schedule, missing days and shared score inputs can complicate the relationship; this is a hypothesis generator, not a verdict on activity.
This is one person’s exported record, not a clinical assessment or a live feed.
What’s included
A static snapshot of 400 exported dates and 98 workout dates. The dashboard uses days with at least one dashboard measure. The source archive contains 22 selected Oura app-data files; payment, subscriptions and raw location are excluded.
How sleep is counted
Daily sleep duration, HRV, lowest sleep heart rate and breathing come from the longest recorded sleep session on the exported day. The shift insight separately sums non-overlapping sessions; that sum is not necessarily a 24-hour total.
What it cannot say
Missing values remain missing. The data do not establish workdays, diagnoses, biological adaptation, causes or training prescriptions. Different metrics can have different sample counts.
Privacy is real
This package contains Jason’s individual health data, workout history and reported work schedule. Anyone who can reach the public site or download its files can access them. There is no login built into this package.
